Introduction Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a clinical syndrome whose hallmarks are excessive, anxiety-evoking thoughts and compulsive behaviours that generally recognized as unreasonable, but which cause significant distress impairment. OCD may also occur in the context of other neuropsychiatric disorders, most commonly anxiety mood disorders. The question remains to whether these combinations disorders should be regarded independent, cooccurring or different manifestations an incompletely understood constellation spectrum with common aetiology. Objectives To review critically there robust basis for concept obsessive–compulsive (OC) if so, included. Methods Literature performed on PubMed Google Scholar databases, using keywords “obsessive–compulsive disorder”, spectrum”, “body dysmorphic “hypochondriasis”, “trichotillomania”, “psychiatry”.
